Frequently asked questions

Everything we are regularly asked before and after purchase. If your question is not here, write to support@brevora.com and we will answer within 24 business hours on business days.

Courses and prerequisites

Do I need any prior experience?

For Excel Essentials, no — it assumes you can open a workbook and nothing more. Advanced Excel, Power Query and Dashboard Design assume you are comfortable with formulas and basic spreadsheet structure. Power Pivot and Power BI assume you have completed Power Query or already work with data models. Every course page states its level and prerequisites clearly.

Which version of Excel do I need?

Microsoft 365 is recommended, because dynamic array functions such as FILTER and XLOOKUP are only available there. Excel 2019 and 2021 work for most of the material, and where a feature is version-dependent the lesson says so and shows the alternative approach. Power Query is included in Excel 2016 and later on Windows. Power BI Desktop is a free download for Windows.

Are the courses live or pre-recorded?

All courses are pre-recorded video lessons that you follow at your own pace, with downloadable exercise files so you can work along in your own copy. The Ultimate plan adds two scheduled one-to-one video sessions, and Business plans include a group onboarding call.

How much time should I set aside?

Course lengths range from 4 to 9 hours of video. Most learners spend roughly twice that in total, because the exercises are meant to be done rather than watched. There is no schedule and no deadline: on individual plans your access does not expire, so you can take a course over a weekend or over six months.

Can I download the videos?

Videos are streamed in the student area and are not downloadable, as they remain the intellectual property of BREVORA LTD. Exercise files, solution files and written lesson notes are downloadable and are yours to keep and reuse, including at work.

Do you add new courses?

Yes. Courses are added to the catalogue over time, and existing courses are updated when the software changes materially. On the Professional and Ultimate plans, future courses are included at no extra cost. On Starter and Standard, you keep the courses you chose.

Access, certificates and support

How long do I keep access?

Individual plans include lifetime access to the courses in your plan. There is no recurring charge and no expiry. Business seats run for twelve months from purchase and are renewable. Premium Support is a monthly add-on you can cancel at any time.

Do I get a certificate?

Yes. A certificate of completion is issued for each course you finish, showing your name, the course title, the number of hours and the completion date. It is a certificate of completion issued by Brevora Ltd, not a regulated or accredited qualification, and we say so plainly rather than implying otherwise.

What is your refund policy?

You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase. Write to support@brevora.com with your order reference and we will process it, normally within five business days. The full policy, including the specific cases where a refund can be declined, is set out on our Refund Policy page.

What exactly does the certificate say?

It shows your name, the course title, the approximate number of hours, the completion date and the issuing company, BREVORA LTD. It is a certificate of completion. It is not a regulated qualification, it is not accredited by an awarding body, and it does not carry university credit. We state this plainly because some providers do not.

Can I share my account with a colleague?

No. Individual accounts are for one named person. If several people in your organisation need access, the Team plan exists precisely for that and works out cheaper than the risk. Sharing credentials is a breach of our Terms of Service and can result in access being suspended.

What if a video does not play?

First try a different browser and check that any corporate VPN or content filter is not blocking video streaming — that is the most common cause on work laptops. If the problem persists, write to support@brevora.com with the course name, the lesson number, your browser and your operating system, and we will investigate and reply.

Payment, refunds and invoicing

What is your refund policy?

You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase. Write to support@brevora.com with your order reference and we will process it, normally within five business days. The full policy, including the specific cases where a refund can be declined, is set out on our Refund Policy page.

Can my employer pay by invoice?

Yes, for Business plans. We can issue an invoice against a purchase order and accept bank transfer. Write to support@brevora.com with your company details, the number of seats and any procurement reference you need on the invoice.

Do you offer support if I get stuck?

Yes. Every plan includes email support during your studies, answered within 24 business hours on business days. Support covers the course material and the exercises. It does not extend to building your own company reports for you — that is what the Ultimate plan review and the Premium Support add-on are for.

Is my payment secure?

Payments are processed by our payment provider over an encrypted connection. Brevora Ltd never sees or stores your full card number. You receive an emailed receipt for every purchase, and invoices are available on request.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay, in euros, processed by our payment provider. Business plans can additionally be paid by bank transfer against an invoice — write to support@brevora.com with your company details and any purchase order reference.

Will this appear on my bank statement as "Brevora"?

Yes. The statement descriptor is BREVORA. If you see a charge you do not recognise, write to support@brevora.com before opening a dispute with your bank — we will identify the order and, if it was not authorised by you, refund it immediately.

Is there a subscription I need to cancel?

Not on individual plans. Starter, Standard, Professional and Ultimate are one-off payments with lifetime access — there is no recurring charge and nothing to cancel. The only recurring products are Business seats, billed annually, and the Premium Support add-on, billed monthly and cancellable at any time.

The company

Where is Brevora based?

BREVORA LTD is a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 17370266, with its registered office at 2 Frederick Street, Kings Cross, London, WC1X 0ND, United Kingdom. Our published business activity on the register is 85590 — Other education not elsewhere classified. All teaching is delivered online.

Are you affiliated with Microsoft?

No. BREVORA LTD is an independent training provider with no affiliation to, endorsement from or partnership with Microsoft Corporation. Microsoft, Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot and Power BI are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation, referred to on this site only to describe the software our courses teach. No Microsoft software or licence is included with any plan.

Do you promise a job or a salary increase?

No, and we would treat any provider who does with suspicion. We teach skills that are widely used in reporting and analysis roles. What happens in your career depends on your market, your organisation and what you do with the skills — none of which a training company controls or should pretend to.

How do you handle my personal data?

We collect the minimum needed to sell and deliver a course: your name, email address, order details and course progress. We do not sell personal data. Payment card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach our servers. The full detail — legal bases, retention periods, processors and your rights under the UK GDPR — is in our Privacy Policy.
